This piece of fanfiction began its life on Bast's wonderful Anime Addventure as a branch of the extremely prolific "Lamp of Mihoshi" thread, of which Kestral's initial episode may be found here. (This particular story begins with Option 4, by the way.)
As I wrote the thread, I began incorporating various experiments with font color and HTML formatting in order to help me tell the story as best I could, and providing some visual flair to what would otherwise be an ordinary black-and-white text. A sort of cross between prose storytelling and concrete poetry, if you will. I liked it, as did many other people.
There was just one problem: my story was so reliant on text color that a colorblind person would have an extraordinarily difficult time actually following the plot. Plus, some people just don't like experimental prose in their fanfiction — at least not nearly as much as I do. So, after a discussion with the Addventure's moderators, I decided that the best course of action would be to relocate the story to a separate website, where I could continue puttering around with HTML, while at the same time writing a more traditional version for the AA, so that those who didn't want my proverbial bells and whistles could still enjoy the plot, which I personally think is a real doozy.
In any case, this is, as far as I'm concerned, the "official" version, as every chapter contains at least some expansion on or revision of the original AA episodes. Special thanks to Kalaras of Heaven for helping me refine the HTML coding. Enjoy!

If you wish to make a comment on any part of the story, the best way to do that is post a comment to the most recent episode of the Anime Addventure version of this story, since I check that far more frequently than I do any of my email addresses. Don't be shy — I love getting feedback, since it helps me become a better writer.
Disclaimer:
I own neither the cast of Ranma ½ nor Mihoshi Kuramitsu. These characters are the intellectual property of their respective creators and publishers. I'm using them for this story because I'm reasonably certain that said creators and publishers aren't interested in suing me.
