Wondrous Lover
Lord how beautiful you are in love
And most comely to be endeared to
More than the doting eyes of a faithful lover
Than the strong entrancing face of a dear one
You daily my ways cream with kindness
My steps with mercies are oiled
Motherly you worry ever over me
With eyes that fail never for sleep
And arms that will not fold for rejection
Outstretched always to receive
Motions of a heart that ever beats love
Throbbing passionately with Heavenly grace
Even when mine in straying is lost
All unspeakable pains for such as I
Most undeserving of all wretches
Whither truly then shall I drop
Or to what miry depth shall I fall
That for me you will not descend
With abiding love to restore and confirm
Such mystery is the nature of your love to me
