The collection of poems in this
series focuses on the concept of destiny, by which I mean the aggregate
and ultimate purpose or end a person was made for. It was inspired while
pondering sometime ago on the cycles of setbacks and failures I had
experienced in life together with that I was then in. These were in spite
of and contrary to the great potentials and opportunities I knew I was
blessed with as attestable by many. Even more contrary were they to the
great future I had look forward to and believed was mine. The light I
received gave birth to these verses.
The series describes
destiny as subsisting only and wholly in excellent conditions such as Greatness,
Fortune, and Glory; no unpleasant state whatever is accepted to be
synonymous with destiny even though experiences of such may be and are verily found on
its path. The poems affirm belief in the existence and blessedness of
destiny and proffer some explanations for the accompanying pains and
challenges, particularly the purpose they serve in the overall picture and
the positive way to face them.
It
inspires faith in the existence of a specific,
unique and glorious destiny for every individual, in spite and regardless
of each individual's perceived or real disadvantage. A destiny that
has one's highest good as its ultimate goal and to which we are not
helpless victims but rather active participants in its attainment. It then
challenges every one to wake up to his destiny and refuse to give in to
the intimidations of life knowing that in the end the fruit shall
prove to be worth over, above and beyond the pains.
It
is my hope and prayer that this series will inspire and motivate to
exploits and great achievements as many as read it, most especially those
frustrated and probably giving up. I pray they receive hope and
