Inspirations I've had more than one person/event inspire me and my writing, of course. The actual people/events that I write about are personal and private, but the people who have inspired me to keep going and keep writing, even when I was tempted to burn everything I've ever scribbled down ... they should be given the props they deserve. And here's their chance! ^_^ Johnny Reznik Johnny Reznik is the lead singer for The Goo Goo Dolls, which is my absolute favourite band in the entire world. He really is the one person who has probably inspired me to write the most. I remember being 11 years old and reading about how he deals with writer's block in a magazine {he uses post-it notes to write ideas down} and thinking, "Wow. I want to write like him." His music saved my life when I was at my worst ... and his lyrics are just amazingly beautiful. Anne Rice Anne Rice, as most of you hopefully know, is the amazing creator of the Vampire Chronicals (Interview With a Vampire, Queen of the Damned, Blood & Gold). Her writing style is so amazing and intricate ... she blows my mind. And the poetry she includes in her books is also so good. I highly suggest you read at least one of her books if you get the chance, because there is so much to be gained from her writing. Lifehouse/Jason Wade Jason Wade writes some fucking awesome lyrics. Always has, always will. I had the pleasure of meeting him and the rest of the band once, and they are the nicest of people. I read "Heart of a Rockstar" to Sergio, and he liked it. Basically, they inspired me to keep writing because they told me how great of a start I already had. That meant a lot, so now I'm paying tribute to them. Go buy their albums. Yeah. Hanson I know what you're thinking ... "Hanson? They're pansies!" Well, then you obviously have never given them a chance outside of Mmmbop. Hanson is probably one of THE most talented bands out there, yet barely anyone acknowledges that talent simply because all they think of when they hear their name is long blonde hair and high-pitched voices singing nonsense words. That was years ago. The music and lyrics those guys write are fucking amazing, and their stuff has inspired me so much as the years have gone by ... I suggest you download "Bridges of Stone" and "In the City." Then, you can tell me what you think of Hanson ; )
