Welcome to
this page under construction. Deal.
After the Ares Conventions were signed in 2412, battles ran
rampant across the galaxy. In 2439, the face of war changed; the
BattleMech now dominated the field. It was at this time
Ishitandai MechWyrks switched from construction equipment to
armored war machines. Within only a few years, Ishitandai
MechWyrks was a leading manufacturer of weapons and equipment.
The three main manufacturing facitilties for Ishitandai MechWyrks
were all on Earth, but there were factories scattered across the
galaxy. There were even several on the rim of known space, as
humanity spread, so did its need for construction equipment. Now
that humanity's lust for war had spread, there was also a great
need for BattleMechs.
Ishitandai MechWyrks upgraded its factories quickly, even on the
rim. This action was not so much to profit from the wars but an
attempt at survival; a BattleMech factory was bound to have
several BattleMechs on hand for its own defense. Fortunately,
many factories still survive today, partly due to ComStar, partly
due to sheer brute strength.
The Succession wars were not without casualties. Ishitandai
MechWyrks had to "mothball" most of its original
manufacturing equipment. Too few techs were capable of repairing
the sensitive weaponry. Supplies were running short. Ishitandai
MechWyrks, already a prime target for having 'mech facilities,
did not want to advertise superior weapons and draw more
attention. Even ComStar added to this by purging techs in an
effort to stop the Inner Sphere war machine and simply take over
the remains.
The rediscovery of Star League technology and the return of the
clans has brought a new age of prosperity for Ishitandai
MechWyrks. Although many of the old machines are over 5 centuries
old, most without seeing use in several hundred years, most
Ishitandai factories are close to their original production
qualities! Not only is Ishitandai MechWyrks capable of repairing
clan technology, it is capable of reproducing it in some
quantities. There are rumors that "new" tech, lost
since the days of the Hegemony, is available from Ishitandai
MechWyrks. All one has to do is make it past the Com Guards
stationed at many facilities, or seek out the hidden and remote
factories that "disappeared" during the Succession
Wars.
