The final round of a King Challenge is always a classic encounter and this one was no different. Four shots spereated five players, but with Simon having to withdraw from the final round. Andrew Millar (+1), Rohan (+2), Steve (+6) and Mike (+6) made up the final group. Bondie, Paul and AB were the first to tee off, Bondie needed luck and a 'Royal Monday' collapse from the leaders but couldnt make a move on the front nine. AB wanted to hand the spoon to Paul but the gap was too wide and the spoon was heading his way. After a solid start parring 2,3,4 Rohan had bunker trouble and took an 8 on the 5th. Andrew M and Mike both parred 5,6,7 but Mike hit water on 8 while Andrew parred. Steve kept in touch with the lead picking up 2 pars. At the turn Andrew held a slight lead over Rohan and Mike was only a shot back.

With the pressure on, Mike, Andrew and Steve struggled on the 10th while Rohan calmly took par. Andrews tee shot on 10 went into a bunker, his second into reeds by a lake. The crowd then looked on in surprise as he took out a wood. The shot didnt work and another iron was required to hack the ball out. Andrew took a 9 giving Rohan the lead. Mikes charge ended on the next hole, a short par 3. 2 balls into the water and he fell back off the pace. Rohan hot hard with a birdie on the long 14th knocking in a trecherous putt that, had it missed may have required another few shots to get down. Mike and Andrew were unable to capatilise on opportunities, Andrews run finally halting on 16 when he hit into the trees. Pars on 15, 16, 17 to Rohan sealed victory from a fast finishing Steve. A critical final decision on the 18th saw Rohan take a putter from the sand and set up a certain bogey to win the Challenge.
