| In 2373 a Dominion fleet arrived in the Alpha Quadrant via the Bajoran Wormhole. They proceded to Cardassia Prime to help build up their fleet with their new allies, the Cardassians. Soon after they began making non-aggression packs with several Alpha Quadrant powers including the Bajorans and the Romulans. |
| Later that year Benjamin Sisko ordered the mining of the Wormhole to prevent anymore Dominion ships from entering the Alpha Quadrant. In retaliation the Dominion and Cardassians launched a fleet that ended up capturing Deep Space Nine from the Federation. |
| With Deep Space Nine lost, the war turned badly for the Federation and Klingon forces. In a desperate attempt a fleet of ships was sent to retake Deep Space Nine. One of the most bloody battles ensued, but in the end the Federation and Klingon forces were victorious. |
| After the battle the war turned into a stalemate. Both the Federation/Klingon forces and the Dominion/Cardassian forces suffered loss after loss. The Dominion began to gain the advantage when they surprised attacked and captured one of the Federation's most important planets, Betazoid. |
| Seeing the need for more help a secret meeting on Deep Space Nine occured between the Federation and the Romulans. After showing the Romulans evidence that the Dominion would attempt to conquer Romulus after the Federation and Klingon forces were conquered. Seeing this the Romulans terminated their non-aggression pact with Dominion and joined the war on the Federation's side. |
| After the Romulans joined the Federation and its allies won victory after victory driving the Dominion back into Cardassian space. To give themselves the upper hand in the war the Federation and its allies launched a massive assault on the Chin'toka System which gave them a foot hold in Dominion/Cardassian space. |
| With the war turning once more the Dominion decided to even the stakes by gaining another ally. In 2375 the Dominion convinced the Breen to join their side in the war. With their new ally the Dominion launched an offensive to retake the Chin'toka System. The Breen lead the offense by using a previously unknown energy dampening weapon which destroyed the Federation/Klingon/Romulan fleet with hardly any damage done to themselves or their Dominion and Cardassian allies. |
| After the battle the Cardassian leader, Legate Damar, decided that the Cardassians were not receiving what the Dominion had promised them almost 2 years earlier. A resistance began where several hundred Cardassian soldiers launched attacks on several key Dominion installations, giving the Federation and its allies the necessary time to develop counter measures against the Breen's energy dampening weapon. |
| The Dominion retalliated by destroying the resistance.With the Dominion slightly weakened, the Federation and its allies launched every ship they had in order to put an end to the war. |
| As the fleet headed to Cardassian space Legate Damar convinced the population to rise up against the Dominion's rule. Seeing the Cardassians as a growing threat the Dominion destroyed Lakarian City, one of the Cardassians major cities. The show of power back fired when the Cardassian fleet switched sides during the battle which ultimately lead to the Dominion and Breen forces surendering. |
