Huatong Valley:
The Huatong Valley runs the length of Highway 9 from Hualien down to Taitung. The valley is in a rift plain between the coastal mountains and the larger central mountain range.
There are many things to do in this area including hiking (Nanan and Fuyuan), visiting waterfalls (Loshan, Fenglin,Teifen, Nanan, and Wangyou), hot springs (Antung, Erdzshan, Juisui, and Hongyeh), and white water rafting (Juisui). You can even find an old Japanese logging ghost town here.
If you visit this area, I would recommend a day of hiking, siteseeing, or white water rafting followed by visit to one of the many hot springs. |
