Fuyuan Recreational Area
This forest recreational area is located between Juisui and Kwangfu off of Route 9. It is a nice, clean mountain retreat that is centered around a clearwater mountain stream. There are several hikes in the area including a mountain trail, a hike to Fuyuan waterfall, and a third trail across the stream to a viewing platform for the waterfall. (At the time of this writing the trail to the viewing platform was wiped out by a landslide, so ask before you head this way)
This area is worth a visit, but if your time is limited, the scenery in the National Parks (i.e. Taroko or Yushan) is better.
