There is a large debate over the possibility of someone being
a gay and a Christian. It is often the right wing side
of the Christian faith who take the point of view that it is impossible
and attack the gay Christian community (GCC).
The likes of LeHaye, Bakker, Robertson and others have, and still
attack the gay Christian (GC) community.
It is not restricted to these people though.
In the past few months, especially when I was away from Australia,
I have been attaacked verbally by those who cannot see beyond
their preconceptions. Many attack the GCC based on what was written
about Sodom.
Yet they rely on God's grace to forgive them of wearing clothes
of mixed fibre, having sex whilst the woman is having her period
and more... Is this not dual standards, as the God whose grace
they live by is also the same God whose grace the GC lives by.
I've decided to publish a couple of the attacks made on myself
and my partner (whom I personally call my HusBear) so as to give
you an idea of the sort of unforgiving and selfish problem we
have had to deal with. In the case of these attacks we were forced
to request the intervention of my work-place to stop them.
I love the Lord my God with all my heart and mind and body, and
He has given me the ability to love another man in a way that
I never was able to do so with a person of the opposite sex.
I am sure that I will get attacked over and over again, but my
Lord will strengthen me, and He will keep me.
In an effort to give people the ability to read for themselves
and to decide if my heart tells me correctly, I will offer the
following pages as a source of other points of view. Admittedly
there will be many links to the protagonist side of the argument
at first, until I find more against the viewpoint.
October 1997: The first, of what is hoped will
be many, letters arrived via e-mail recently. I have decided to
include the letters, be they attacking, or encouraging. So here
goes - a letters to the editor section for you to enjoy:
I know it may
seem strange to include a letter from a pagan on these pages,
but I felt the words that this person said are very worthwhile.
They express something that many Christians, and other people
forget about, and for that reason alone I include them.
Also I have decided to add some excerpts from books I have on
the subject and related to it. I am currently requesting clearance
to quote more than a few sentences on these pages.
