About...

Ady was born February 1967 in Banbury, England. Lived for about six years in that area before moving to Henley-on-Thames, England.

I am British by birth, but in May 1996, I took Australian citizenship. Currently I hold both UK and Australian passports, which is very nice and useful.

Australia, my home, and my country.

I am a bit of an Arctophile, but do you know what that is?

Education

Secondary Education was at the grammar school called Sir William Borlase School, Marlow, Buckinghamshire (England).

My Higher education was conducted at the University of Reading, Berkshire, England. I graduated in July 1989. Started Work at Kalgoorlie College in January 1990.

I now am employed as a lecturer in Computing at Kalgoorlie College, Western Australia. Currently teaching a variety of subjects from Database Design, through to Programming, and from Video Capture and Processing through to Data Communications. The subjects vary from year to year, except for a few which I teach on a regular basis.

Kalgoorlie College is now part of Curtin University, WA. The bill was passed in September 1996, and as such the Western Australian School of Mines and Kalgoorlie College form the Curtin University - Kalgoorlie Campus.

Interests and Pastimes

The Poetry Page

Some have said that there is a lot of writing to come from me, but in my opinion all I do is write how I feel about something. The Poetry Page contains verse that I have written, prose, and thougths that are there from discussions with friends around teh world. If you like the poetry then feel free to print it and credit me where appropriate.

Please email me if you are linking to my web site, it's always appreciated. I will endevour to add you to my links as well.

Music

Eclectic? Yes that describes my tase in music. I have interest in singing and listening to music.

I range from Bach to Meatloaf to Kitaro to Enya and Gospel. I suppose my favorite groups and artists are Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman, JS Bach, Queen, and the little known PDQ Bach.

More links and info from following the link.

Sport

I have a keen interest in field hockey, ice hockey, Australian Rules football, waterpolo, hurling, American football, lacrosse and a variety of other sports. I personally play field hockey and indoor hockey, and have played waterpolo and lacrosse.

Follow the link to find out more.

Cooking

Food! Well, shall I say I LOVE it. I have a keen interest in cooking Thai, Italian, Chinese, and other styles. I love wine, and also like the occaisonal beer, preferably Guiness, or a good real English ale.

I've copied the food and drink to the Bears Down Under web site, and expanded the recipes there, so so have a look! I've kept the list here as well, though, due to "popular demand".

Science Fiction

Trekkie! Yes, I love Star Trek, and I have NO bias from the Original, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, or Voyager. The X-files, Space: Above and Beyond, and the excellent Babylon 5 are all in my loves. I also loved the likes of Space 1999 when that was shown in the UK.

Comedy and Humour

I suppose that some people will say I have a twisted sense of humour... that is very true! I never did like Blackadder at first, but now, well, shall I badly quote one Queen "I am very amused". I also love a good joke, and some sit-coms, but they seem to be mainly British in origin.

Sex

Well, I love sex. Since really discovering I am a sexual, as well as a spiritual being, sex is something I enjoy, rather than dread! In fact when with the person I love, sex becomes more than just an act, it's a full experience, both in body, mind and spirit.

But one thing is for certain though... if you enjoy it, wrap it.

more to come... and also find elsewhere on this site!
