| I started out life as Barbara Lockwood, and grew up in Berkeley, California. I played the cello from an early age (and still play the cello), and went to Stanford and then Cal Berkeley in the '60s. Until recently, I practiced law in Hillsboro, Oregon with the firm of Brisbee & Stockton. I'm still married to my teen sweetheart, Craig Johnston. Craig retired in March, 2002 from his full-time engineering job at Nike, and plans to work a bit more for Nike as a contractor, but mostly work on boat stuff for us. We met at Cazadero Music Camp when we were 16! Our children are Ian (born 1972), now living in Seattle and working at Adobe, and David (born 1975), who lives in Los Angeles and is seeking work as an animator. |
| In 2001 we took delivery of our new Outbound 44 sailboat, and spent that summer circumnavigating Vancouver Island -- a dream had for a long time. Not long after that we decided we wanted to sail further and in warmer places. This led to the idea -- and soon the reality -- of the trip to the South Pacific, now set to start in March, 2003. |

| I retired from Brisbee & Stockton on December 31, 2002, and now we're in final preparation for... Our next adventure, planned to start in March 2003: an 18 month trip to the South Pacific. Click here for our tentative itinerary. This is more complicated and involves lots of planning, studying, and acquiring more boat equipment -- a real undertaking! I plan to send e-mail updates once we are underway. Email me if you'd like to be on the email list! |

| What's New: February, 2003: The boat now has its own website for the upcoming trip to the South Pacific -- Thanks to Ian, who helped me set it up. Check it out! December, 2002: posted holiday photos. November 25, 2002: Posted photos of our sunny (!) Thanksgiving cruise outing with the Sauvie Island Yacht Club. For maximum sunshine, check out page 3! October 2002 -- We've sold our house. We moved into an apartment at the end of September. September 2002 -- late summer river outing. |
