Circumnavigating Vancouver Island -- Summer 2001 -- Contents
What follows is an edited version of our e-mail updates from our Summer, 2001 circumnavigation of Vancouver Island, with pictures added.  We started in Seattle and headed northwest, via Port Townsend, Anacortes, through the northern fringes of the San Juan Islands to Nanaimo.  From there we circled Vancouver island, until we returned to Nanaimo again about six weeks later.  We then headed northwest again so we could spend the supposedly prime two weeks of late summer weather in Princess Louisa Inlet and Desolation Sound before heading home to Portland.  Alas, this was not the year for the prime late summer weather.  But we had a great time � read on--
