Kind of heart, and a true leader. Skilled fighter and strategist. All aspects of a great Horse-Lord. Interests: Hunting with his betrothed and their wolf-hounds. He also enjoys crafting bows and raising horses. Family: Sarawen of Gondor (beloved), Seeria (wife deceased), Oweyn (son deceased), Hama (father deceased), Hilda (mother deceased), Homa (uncle recently deceased) History: Oweyn's baptisim of fire came when he was given a sword, a suit of armor and ordered to defend Helm's Deep with his life. He was fifteen. At that battle he witnessed horrors and heroism which still chill and inspire him to this day. He met the future King of Gondor who took him aside before the battle and gave him comforting words and he saw the Alliance of Elves and Men renew itself one last time. His father Hama was killed by a warg-rider from Isengard en route to Helm's Deep; a Royal Body Guard to King Theoden his loss was strongly felt by Haleth (he adopted the name Oweyn later in life) whose mother was killed by Wild Men only a month before. He was orphaned but was adopted by the crown. Haleth grew up in the halls of Edoras and trained to be a Horse-Lord which he had become. He served his King well and is devoted to his duty. At age twenty five, Haleth wed a ninteen year old lass from the Riddermark named Seeria. They were truly and passionately in love, however their happiness would not last. During their second year of marriage, Seeria bore a child. Her labour was a difficult one, and as a result she lost her life giving birth to their son, Oweyn. The child lived, but was very sickly. When the son, Oweyn, was two years of age, he succumbed to a sickness of the lungs. The child wasn't strong enough to fight the illness, and thus lost his life at a very young age. Iin rememberance of his son he changed his name to Oweyn. By the age of thirty summers he was already Third Marshal of the Mark. This he earned by winning a key battle against an invading force that had come up from Umbar. Recently Oweyn has returned from a mission to the South where he along with a small group of companions and the local rebels helped to overthrow the ruling despotic King in the Far Harad. There he fell in love with a Gondorian/Easterling Ranger named Sarawen otherwise known as Lynx Crowfoot. He also lost his uncle Homa during a battle to defend the rebel encampment from Uruk-hai, though it was not well known the two were related. He received from him his sword, Valour before he died. Upon returning to Edoras, Oweyn was raised in rank to First Marshal by King Eomer, the postion his uncle held. Together Oweyn and Sarawen live in Edoras while the day of their marriage approches, after which they'll move to the land that was awarded to Oweyn when he attained his new rank. |
