History:
Lady Naira was born in the Second Age of the Ages of the Sun circa 1,870.  She is the daughter of a Captain of the Lindon Guard and a descendant of the Handmaiden's of Melian.

Naira's father was named Thrilmandel Telirion.  He was a noble during the time of greatness in the Halls of Menegroth.  When the Dwarves invaded and Thingol was killed, Thrilmandel escaped into the forests of Beleriand with a few of the other nobles and his wife, Laimelloniel.

Laimelloniel was Naira's mother.  She was a direct descendant of the Handmaiden's of Melian through her mother's line.  Her father was of the Edain.  He had been one of the men that went looking for Beren and stumbled upon Menegroth.  Melian, in all her wisdom, decided to let him enter.  It was her intention to find out more about Beren from his companion.  When this human enered Menegroth, Beren was nowhere to be found for he was on the quest for the Silmarills.  But he agreed to stay and answer Melian's questions about the man who was in love with her daughter.  In the process, this Edain fell in love with one of Melian's Handmaidens and so, Laimelloniel was born.

Eventually, Thrilmandel and Laimelloniel came to live in Lindon.  There, Naira was born.  It is said that she was born on the day the sun shone brightest in the sky.  The elven midwives said that she had been blessed by Arien, and that the rays of the sun shone like the dew of Laurelin on her face.  And so, Thrilmandel and Laimelloniel named her Naira, "The Heart of the Flame."

As Naira grew, her father and mother told her stories of Menegroth to preserve their heritage and enstill a sense of history in their child.  Naira loved to sit in her father's lap under the stars and listen for hours to his stories of the magnificent halls.  She also loved listening to her mother sing the songs of the Handmaiden's of Melian.  They always excited her and lifted her spirits as she imagined the decorated halls and the golden gates.

Naira was raised in Lindon for only a brief period of time.  When the wars of the elves began with Sauron, her father would go command his company of troups abroad.  At this time, Naira and her mother moved to Lorien where it was much safer.  In Lorien, Laimelloniel served the Lady Galadriel as befited her status, Handmaiden.  Galadriel became very fond of little Naira, and would often let her roam her private gardens with Aereronien, a fosterling Galadriel had taken in from the War of the Jewels.

Yet Naira's peaceful childhood would soon be disrupted.  At age eleven, while dozing on the hilltop of Cerin Amroth, Naira recieved her first vision.  It was of her father, dying in battle against Sauron and his armies.  This vision was held true when the Lorien infantry returned bearing Thrilmandel's golden helmet and his cloak.  Inside the helmet was the small Elanor flower that Naira had given him on his last departure.

Shortly thereafter, Naira's mother also passed.  Laimelloniel and Naira had travelled with a small group of guards to Menegroth.  The caves were deserted now, and so Laimelloniel took this chance to show her daughter where her heritage came from and to lay her husband's remains in the place that he wished.  Though young Naira's heart was overtaken with sadness, her heart lifted when she saw the large gates of Menegroth.  All day she and her mother explored the halls of Menegroth till they came to the chamber where Thingol was laid to rest.  In this lavish chamber was also kept the remains of those lords most loyal to the elven king.  And there, Laimelloniel and Naira placed Thrilmandel's helm and cloak.

As Laimelloniel and Naira departed Menegroth, with their small troop of guards, they were ambushed by orcs.  The number of orcs outweighed the number of elves.  Their guard fought furiously, but Laimelloniel knew that they would not be able to defeat all of the orcs.  So she took Naira and fled back to the caves of Menegroth.  There, she hid her child and gave her one last kiss goodbye.  Laimelloniel then ran off to distract the orcs away from Naira in an attempt to save the child.  In the process of distraction, Laimelloniel lost her life, and Naira was left alone in the home of her ancestors.

Shortly thereafter, Naira was found in Menegroth by Losias, an elven scout of Lorien.  It seemed that in the turmoil of the orc attack, the Lady Galadriel had recieved a vision of Naira's distress.   So she sent Losias out to retrieve the scared elfling.  When Losias arrived back in Lorien with Naira, she was brought before the Lord and Lady.  The Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn took pity on Naira and made her a fosterling.  For the next thousand years of her life, Naira lived in Lorien under the care of the Lord and Lady.  Galadriel paid extra attention to her and schooled her in the ways of the great visionaries.  Naira was also trained by Lorien's best in the art of fighting and weaponry.

When Naira was about 1,236, she ventured outside the boundaries of Lorien to learn more about the world of Arda.  Her travels took her South at first, to the forests of Fangorn.  There, Naira befriended Treebeard, the King of the Treehearders, and Oakenstaff, one of the lesser Ents.  From these two wise beings, Naira learned more knowledge about trees than she ever would have on her own.  Thus, accounted for Naira's great love of trees.

After spending about ten years in the depths of Fangorn, Naira traveled back north to Lorien.  There, Galadriel advised her to travel to Imladris. In Imladris, Naira became a messenger for King Elrond and a companion for Lady Arwen.  Elrond noticed Naira's interest in the arts of healing, and so took her under his wing and taught her many secrets of his healing power.  Naira made many friends in Imladris, one of which was Lynx Crowfoot.  The two formed such  bond that one could almost compare them as sisters, even though Lynx was of Human blood.  Naira also had the privilege of meeting Glorfindel, the Captain of Elrond's Guard.  The two became an item and shared a happy time together.  Yet sadly, after being together for three seasons, Glorfindel was called to the Undying Lands where his service was needed most.  The two mutually agreed that it would be best if they parted ways, yet they maintaned a respectful friendship always.

Lady Naira then went out to wander the lands once more.  On her travels, she encountered many a danger, and many a race.  Lady Naira has fought in the last War of the Ring alongside the likes of King Elessar.  She has encountered and defeated many an orc and Uruk-hai.  She is a skilled fighter, with a brave and valiant heart.

When her heart grew weary of traveling, Naira returned to Lorien to see her foster parents and enjoy the Golden Wood.  It is there that she met Merenmenel, a recent member of Elrond's Guard.  Meren had been visiting Lorien to gather reports for King Elrond.  Upon first glance, the two were absolutely taken aback with what would simply be called love at first site.  Naira followed Meren to Imladris where they then shared a happy time together until Naira recieved a letter from Lynx asking for assistance.
"Hush be the birds when night has dawned, save harmony's nightingale.
He sings the song of lovers gone, and halls once lively hailed.
Where time stood still and history well lived,
Of old we sing a new.
Remebered are those who've passed beyone the veil of lifes great dew."
