Family: Her father remains a mystery to this day, as he himself was half-elven and is thought to have been killed shortly after Ori was born. Her mother, Naraiwe (firebird) lived in Imladris for a time, but departed Middle-earth when Ori was about five hundred. Ori has two brothers: Mornarion, who left with Lord Elrond over the sea, and Fenmarin, who resides in Lorien as a member of the Guard. History: Orisadil was born in Second Age 1,839. Her mother is a relative to Celebrian wife of Elrond, and hails from Lorien, and her father, a half-elf, has not been heard of since mere months after her birth. Fenmarin, her eldest brother, became part of the Guard of Lorien. Her second brother, Mornarion, was born in Second Age 1,634, and was quite protective of his little sister until his departure with Elrond at the end of the third age. As a young child, Ori dwelt in Imladris with her mother and brother, and spent her days learning about combat. Truthfully, Naraiwe did not want her only daughter to learn the ways of war, but such was given to be Oris destiny, and she became skilled with a child-size sword and short staff at a young age. Upon her mothers departure, Ori, age 500, threw herself into becoming an exceptional fighter, learning to use two swords of equal length and furthering her knowledge of staff combat. When she turned 600 years old, Lord Elrond approached Ori with the two objects that remained from her long-missing father. One of these was a letter, instructing Ori to learn not only how to fight, but how to use the power inside her; the other, a pendant made of dark stone and carven into the shape of a fiery bird, seeming to glow from within with a soft light. Elrond explained to her what was meant by using the power inside herit was a way to draw on her own strength and spirit and use it for a purpose. For her, this purpose was to learn how to heal. Ori remained in Imladris when the battle of the Last Alliance was fought, standing by the others of Rivendell in any combat (thankfully there was little) that came their way. It was in this battle that she was given the scar below her eye. Upon Elronds return, she was fascinated by the idea that he had carried the flag of King Gil-Galad into battle; Elrond realized this and in a few years she was appointed Standard Bearer of Imladris. When the Company of the Ring departed Rivendell, Ori was sent first to Rohan, to the city of Edorashere she met Oweyn, though it was in passing and neither of them has recalled this meeting and then to several of the smaller cities in Gondor, in an attempt to help fortify their defenses. Elrond and Mornarion, along with the Three Elven rings and several of her kin, departed Middle-earth, but Ori remained behind. She found the Company as it formed, but was split from them when the Orcs she was tracking snuck up on her in the night and stole her pendant. She chased them relentlessly, and finally, with the aid of the company, retrieved it. Presently, Ori is part of the Company that remained at the Solace rebel camp. |
