This is Joe Renholds' map of an area that he fished on the Chippewa Flowage in Wisconsin. The structure appears to be a gently sloping flat with little to interest the average fisherman. Further investigation by a spoonplugger shows it to contain the characteristics of a reef with definite breaks and breaklines made up of rocks, gravel, sand, and clean areas. What would be the quickest way to find areas such as these? How would you present your lures? If the predominant species were walleye, would live bait be appropriate? How often do you draw a side view of your fishing situation?
