After some years in the grave, Pandus look-alike Gary Ignacio resurrected Alamid after an
unsuccessful pilitical career. San Miguel Beer brought them for a rainy beach concert to
support the 6th Aurora Surfing Cup
The band still rocks after all these years. They did about 3 of their originals and the
rest... today's rock favorites. (Yeah, Linkin Park and the likes, kinda ill, if you ask
me)
They still do that Batibot thing. Good for nostalgia. They even have a "bastos"
version of Teeth's "Laklak" titled "Laplap". Go figure.
Surfer dudes enjoyed the concert held at the Bay's Inn. Heavy rains reduced the attendance
to like, 200
Makmak noticed that Gary also looks like Manuel Teh. Here he's singing "Your
Love".
The bassist fell asleep in the middle of their set but continued playing on to comply with
the contract.
Amado Valenzuela, Baler's next Boy Boy Ferreras. I just wish his greatest accomplishment
wouldn't be limited to a gig with the April Boys, or accompanying a really bad jazz
pianist on a Saturday night with a sax! Some horizons, puhleeze! Cool licks and more, this
wiz could put many Manila-based guitarists to shame, all the E-head guys included.
The vox decided to shed his dread locks, graduated from being Kuhlafuh's guest screamer
and instead concentrate on copying Brandon Boyd - looks, voice and all.
Although the Che Guevarra's pretty 8 years ago, the pose kinda compensated for it. Alvin
knew how to project well with the locals. Strong yelp helped a lot in rehashing rock
stuff. Hope they learn to write original songs. They'd break, man!
OK, they're called Underground Chicken Sound. Science High-spawned musical confusion.
Already on their way to headline local gigs with their promises and soundchecks.
The band started about two years ago to joinan in-school battle of the bands when they're
still in second year high school. They were named Liver Spread then after their guitarist
Reno.
The UCS frontman speaks dipuntu. So send him hate massages at the aurora.ph and
