A Baler Surfing racket in Baler wouldn't be complete without a live band fiesta to cap it.
Previous gigs relied on almost forgotten bands ( like Alamid), or never heards (like
Bernardo Carpio) to make the locals happy - or leave them puzzled. For the 2nd Bay's Inn
Surfing Challenge, the Akaws took over the stage. Dubbed as the Mismu Konsert, this
was an all local gimmick that turned out better than the Bernardo Carpio thingy.
Here local heartrob Alvin Morada jams with Toytoy and the rest of Army Ni Bush.

Slowly but surely proving their worth are the Kwak-kwaks. BB is now satisfied. A proof
that practice really makes perfect - well, almost. If only Ino would shed his April Boy
Regino look and stop doing the Asereje thing at Cocohut....

BADFISH, one of Amado Valenzuela's 5 or 6 Baler bands still doing their thing for a free
barrel of SMB. Cheap payoff if you consider their fiery sets.

This is their first gig after Alvin quit the band because they won't let him sing Justine
Timberlake's "Like I Love You".

The night's surprise hit, all-surfer outfit called Counter Kulto. Fronted by Marco
Villareal who's into Jack Johnson and Pepper.

Can't fight the urge to do the Asereje.

Their name was invented only for the night. Now, they're called D'Ayyots after Diego
decided not to give permission to use Diego 9.5 instead.

Move over Alvin Morada here comes the new heartrob.

Not bad for a first performance.
