Procedures, Policies, Planning, and budgeting for technology environments is needed for a school district to stay current. Planning and budgeting is essential for this environment to grow. School districts need to plan for evaluating the technology needs of students and teachers. Also, planning is needed in training faculty to use new software and programs. During the school year budgeting is necessary for maintainence and purchasing the lastest in technology. Policies and procedures must be in place to ensure a school districts technology environment is current and looking for future developments. School districts need to look towards the future by having policies that ensure the updates and budgeting for a technology environment.

The Nutley School District's Acceptable Use Policy is an artifact of standard VII. This policy is a reflection of the planning and procedures that help create a safe technology environment. The Acceptable Use Policy suggests policies and procedures for security for managing computers/technology in a variety of school/labortory classroom settings.

Working with technology to support personnel to maximize the use of technology resources by administrators, teachers, and students to improve student lerning is part of standard VII. Artifact II is an agenda, webliography, and survey for a professional development workshop on creating WebQuests. This reflects standard VII by modeling integration of software used in classroom and administrative settings, including productivity tools, information access/telecommunication tools, multimedia/hypermedia tools, school management tools, evaluation/portfolio tools, and computer-based instruction. Artifact II was created for an NJCU project.
