Reflection -Standard V
Learning Beliefs
Productivity and professional practice need to be in every school faculty. To promote personal improvement of technology facilitators should take small steps. Many teachers can be overwhelmend when new technology is "thrown" in their face. Those who are not acquainted with the computer need to start at the basics and then lead up the lastest in technology. When first steps are accomplished  teachers then apply technology to enhance and improve personal producivity and professional practice.

Artifact I shows identifies resouces and participates in professional activities that support growth related to technology. New Jersey Association of School Librarians is a professional membership where new technologies are shared. The annual conference offers many lectures on the different uses of technology for the media center.

Some educators inquired about the basics of computers. A session of "Lunch and Learn" was given to those teachers who wanted to learn the basics of AppleWorks word processing. During a "Lunch and Learn" teachers received professional development hours and learned about technology. Artifact II is taken from Standard V, where modeling features of programs to develop professinal products. The AppleWorks program and its utilties were modeled for teachers to improve their personal productivity in technology. 

Artifact III is a PowerPoint designed to demonstrate Kidspiration. The purpose of this project, developed for an NJCU course, was to enhance awarness of an authoring tool. This PowerPoint is an example of Standard V because it applies design principles to demonstrate hypermedia/multimedia products to support professional development. Also, artifact III shows examples of emerging programing, authoring or probelm-solving environments that support personal/professional development.
