On the Earth's twin planet of Mondas, the humanoid population of that planet perfected the science of cybernetics. They replaced their bodies with mechanical counterparts, and even altered the thought processes of their brains. Thus, the Cybermen were born. Ruthless and emotionless, the Cybermen began a campaign of conquest to rule the galaxy. Temporarily defeated with the destruction of Mondas, the Cybermen now operate from their adopted homeworld of Telos. Their goals: To avenge the loss of Mondas and convert their foes into new Cybermen armies.

However, this is not the only cyber mence this galaxy faces. A second race of Cybermen developed in another universe very similar to our own. Earth inventor and industrialist, John Lumic, decided humanity needed to be updated to a new and improved version 2.0. Originally limited to operating in their own universe, these Cybermen are now aware of our world and are eager to cross over and establish a new base of operations.

The Cybermen were originally created by Kit Pedler and Gerry Davis for the BBC science fiction program "Doctor Who", where they became one of the show's most popular monsters. Though the appearance of the Cybermen changed over the course of the show, for over twenty years they terrified school children throughout the world. This site documents both the fictional Cybermen stories, and the behind the scenes work that went into creating them. I dedicate this site to Mr. Pedler, Mr. Davis, the Cybermen actors, the costume and prop makers, Bryn Watkins (Australia's #1 Cyberfan) and everyone else at Doctor Who who were involved in bringing these creatures to life.

I would also like to credit the people at Marvel's Doctor Who Magazine, the books of Peter Haining, the UNIT News web site, the Doctor Who Clippings Archive, Mike Rogers, Dominique Boies, Steve Hill, Andew Barrett, The Union of Traken web site, Doug Scott, Nigel Langridge, and anyone else whose works provided the information contained within this site.

If you have any comments, corrections, or can provide more information on the Cybermen, please email me at: [email protected].

Updates
12.02.09. Sadly the Christmas Special has not yet been shown in the United States, but I will update the site once I can obtain more information. (Thanks Bryn!)

Cybermen, Cyberman, Doctor Who, and the Daleks are all property of BBC television and/or their respective creators. This is a nonprofit, fan site for Doctor Who's Cybermen, and is in no way affiliated with the BBC, the Doctor Who television show, or the Cybermen's creators, Kit Pedler and Gerry Davis. However, it took a lot of time and energy to find all these Cybermen photos and details, so please ask for permission before using any of my content. If you're willing to credit my site and provide a link back I'm usually willing to accommodate you.
