Overdue

In case you're wondering - no I haven't abandoned this site, however trying to find time to sort through pictures, upload them and type up a little blurb has been challenging to say the least. I will make a confession though - a little site called Facebook has finally grabbed my attention of late ... so you could say that some of my time has been spent over there! : )
As usual there's lots going on. July was hectic as I headed to Vancouver for the Western Pentecostal Conference. Conference was really good, but man am I ever feeling old. I was able to catch up with friends that I haven't seen in well over 20 years (see I am getting old). Aside from that it was more of a time observing and trying to figure out ways to keep interest in the conference going. Stephen was invited and spoke to the Jr and Sr high school students. My old friend Abe Daniel was back in the house speaking to the young adults. We were essentially the 2 old foggies along with Matt P. - we reflected back on how we used to be the kids hiding out in the back and now we're either in leadership or running after our own kids. With that the 20th WPC is going to be held in Edmonton next year, so those of us who are involved have been running around trying to secure a location - not an easy task with all the activity going on here there days.
If that wasn't enough, we are in the process of building a new house. With dad looking after the construction we are doing ... check that, dad is doing a lot of the work. However there is a lot of running around to do and helping out whenever possible. We managed to sneak away to Banff for 4 days which was a good break. Now Mya and Yasmeen are both in school - Kindergarten and Pre-school, so we were in that 'Back to school' mode for the first time. We were also reflecting last week on how it's been 10 years since our engagement in Edmonton. It's weird because not only are we looking at how our own lives have changed, however in looking at our pictures from the reception we were reflecting on those friends and family members that have passed on since then ... a surprisingly large number ... we are blessed with the good health that the Lord has given us.
I'm going to rant here for a moment. Our engagement will be forever be linked to another event that is being well remebered 10 years later ... the death of Princess Diana. Although the world will forever be fixed upon this person, even in death, I will always remeber another person who also passed away 10 years ago ... Mother Theresa. When you compare the 2 lives I always wonder why is it that world weeps for a Princess but never a Saint ... ?

3 sets of pictures - enjoy
