We had the best defenceman in the league ... So much for that! I won't say anything more. If anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about - read this.

Amidst all the hockey hype I shamefully negelected to mention that Jenie is now working at Taylor University College and Seminary - formerly North American Baptist College. She's working 2 - 3 days a week which allows her to get out of the house occasionally. She's working the main desk as a receptionist which means she doesn't have to bring any work home or deal with huge issues. Very straight forward.

The last few weeks have been especially hectic here. My parents have sold their house and are moving in with us for about a year - we are therefore trying to finish off our basement as fast as possible. Dad's having a blast as he loves doing this kind of work. I am also starting to learn a few things - seeing as this is my house I'd better start learning something. Last week we were all off to Calgary for the 18th Western Pentecostal Conference. Numbers weren't that great, however it was a great weekend with some great messages. The next 2 years have been set - 2007 in Vancouver and 2008 back here in Edmonton. Jen's parents arrived on the 11th to spend a few weeks. Having all four grandparents around was special for Mya as her 4th birthday was yesterday.

I love YouTube! On Canada Day, Mya decided she would revise O'Canada, with Yasmeen providing backup, and entertain Appachen as he was working in the basement! Hopefully she'll learn the real words soon, but regardless, it's quite amusing to watch. (I have no idea if embedding this clip will count towards the bandwidth limitation that geocities has - if so then I'll have to post a link if and when it locks up).

Back to YouTube - Not only can I post clips of the girls, but I have come across a treasure chest of .... Sesame Street Clips!. Mya was wanting to play on the Sesame Street web site - interactive games and stuff, however I wanted to see if I could find any clips from the 70's and 80's - stuff I grew up with. Sesame Street here in Canada is garbage as far as I'm concerned. Sure you tend to enjoy what you grew up with, however no one can beat Jim Henson in terms of creativity and wit. Henson's work with the Muppets is unmatched and with the exception of 'Muppets Tonight' anything that has come out since his passing has been substandard - in my opinion. Anyways YouTube has provided a medium for these clips to be posted. Here's an old clip that Mya took to right away. For all you Star Wars fans here's a great parody clip that shows what happens after the first Death Star blew up!
