b.) Nugent, Vol. II, page 21: Thomas Wisdom, on 10 April 1667 granted 127 acres of land in Glouster Co., VA for the transport of 3 persons: John Reeve, Judith Knight, Mary Godfrey. The land lying on the North side of Thomas Deacons Mill Swamp beginning at mouth of a branch dividing this land from land of Thomas Miller & close to Mr. Vickers Line.

NOTE: The Thomas Miller land grant record shows that Thomas (1) Wisdom was already seated on land in the Virginia Colony by year 1665, suggesting that he arrived at an earlier date. It would seem that he probably immigrated in to Virginia by year 1658, in consideration of possible Indenture obligations ? ? ?

f.) The book 'Petose Parish' by Chamberlayne states that Glouster Co., VA can be traced back to year 1666. The Vestry records on page 65 are typ. of that ancient era. Quote "Upon ye request of Tho. Hide to ye Vestry. They have bound unto him a bastard child borne to Thomas Wisdom's servant woman, named Edward Grabige, until he comes to ye age of 21 & he the said hide to be allowed 500 lbs of Tobacco & cask for keeping ye said child next yeare without any further charge to ye parish.
