The Uncanny Amazers are Xanthu's native team of post-human defenders. When the UP began their draft for the new Legion of Super-Heroes, Xanthu sent Kid Quantum, who died on the team's first mission. Xanthu then sent Star Boy as his replace-ment, but the draft was ended and they commanded that he return to protect his own home planet. A contest was held between the Amazers and the Legion to determine if Star Boy would have to return home or stay with the Legion and the Amazers were winning due to Kid Quantum II using her powers to hobble the Legionnaires, but the Legion quickly triumphed once she stopped. Later, both Monstress and Kid Quantum II left Xanthu to join the Legion.
Shortly after Radion and Particon joined the team, the Amazers went into battle with a nebulous cloud creature called the Dark Colossus and all of them were trapped inside the creature when it was destroyed except for Insect Queen and Atmos. Star Boy, Dreamer and XS were on Xanthu when the Roboticons attacked and joined the Amazers, the Xanthu resistence and their Khundian allies in trying to repel the invaders. Unfortunately, Xanthu was ill-prepared and only a small portion of the population was able to escape as Star Boy and XS stayed behind to cover them. |
