Thom was brought into the Legion as Xanthu's replacement for Kid Quantum. He was born with his weight controlling ability, but during his trip to Earth, he had an accident and after being fed space-whale meat, began to develop a wide array of powers which eventually wore off. When Dreamer's prophetic visions began to affect her health, Thom took a leave of absence from the Legion to take her to Xanthu to recuperate shortly before the Blight infestation. With the assistance of Khundian warriors, Thom has increased the control and use of his powers.
Thom has the ability to temporarily increase the weight and mass of objects or people. For a brief period, he also possessed enhanced strength, invulnerability, vision powers and flight.
During the year that half of the Legion was "Lost" in uncharted space, Thom, Dreamer and XS were on Xanthu when the planet was attacked by Robotica. He and XS provided cover as the remainder of the Xanthu resistence escaped to UP space and remain there battling the Roboticons alone. |
