Particon was recruited by Leland McCauley to join his Work Force immediately following her rejection for Legion membership. When President Brande requested post-human beings to join the battle against the dark sorceror Mordru, Particon went against McCauley's orders and joined the heroes. After the battle, Particon resigned from the Work Force due to McCauley's questionable ethics and lack of respect for her. She then joined Xanthu's Uncanny Amazers and was sent to battle a cloud creature called the Dark Colossus, but was trapped inside the creature when it was destroyed, which would seemingly have killed her as well.

Radion was recruited by Leland McCauley to join his Work Force immediately following his rejection for Legion membership. When President Brande requested post-human beings to join the battle against the dark sorceror Mordru, Radion went against McCauley's orders and joined the heroes and sustained serious wounds to his face, which forced him to wear a protective helmet to contain escaping radiation. After the battle, he resigned from the Work Force due to McCauley's lack of respect for him. Radion then joined Xanthu's Uncanny Amazers and was sent to battle a cloud creature called the Dark Colossus, but was trapped inside the creature when it was destroyed, which would seemingly have killed him as well. Radion had the ability to emit radioactive blasts.
