| Mordru is an incredibly powerful sorceror with mysterious origins dating at least back to the 20th century. He lived through the centuries building an empire, giving birth to many offspring and collecting artifacts of great power, including the Emerald Eye, until a group of mystics rebelled against him and entombed him at the cost of their lives, except for his eldest daughter Mysa, who was transformed from a young woman to an aged crone. A century later, Mordru escaped from his tomb and began collecting his magical artifacts, destroying the world Sklar in the process. He finally located the Emerald Eye in the company of the Legionnaire Shrinking Violet and after a short battle the two decided to unite and become invincible. The combined tactics of the Legion, Mysa and many other heroes, along with the rebellion of Violet and the Eye led to Mordru's defeat, but at great cost. He remains entombed on the planetoid JS-1967 under constant Science Police watch. A brief attack by the Elements of Disaster, in their desire to destroy him, almost awoke Mordru but the Legion was able to defeat them before he regained consciousness. |
