| The Elements of Disaster are ancient forces that wield the powers of the four natural elements: Fire - Earth - Air - Water. The dark sorceror Mordru had mystically imprisoned them many years in the past on the planet Zyzan. After being accidently released from their imprisonment by the young Dragonmage in his quest for power, each of the spirits possessed a host body to exact revenge on Mordru and set about destroying all technology to allow Magic to flourish. Each of them caused massive chaos and destruction before setting out to track down their old enemy who had been imprisoned by the Legion on the planetoid JS-1967. The Legion, joined by their allies, Mysa and Dragonmage, intercepted the Elementals and were falling one by one, and the release of mystical energies was starting to revive Mordru from his slumber until the host personalities of Phy'r and Rrok rebeled against their captors and helped turn the tide. Of the four host bodies, only Dirk Morgna and Brika survived but Brika perished shortly afterwards. A memorial to honor Brika's sacrifice was erected on the planetoid. Dragonmage was badly injured and virtually powerless once again. Having learned the folly of his actions, he turned himself in to the Science Police to atone for releasing the elementals. |
