#25-#21

The Top 25 is chock full of musical goodness (As if the bottom half of the Top 50 wasn't...).  A diverse blend of musical genres accents songs 25 through 21.  Everything from soul to alternative to folk-based pop finds a way into the Top 25...and that's just a sampling of these five songs!
25. Spoiled by Joss Stone
Joss followed up her strong 2004 with a strong showing in 2005.  Spoiled made it's Top 25 debut on May 26 at #15.  Though it never reached the top spot like You Had Me did in '04, it did spend a total of 13 weeks on the Top 25, including two weeks at #3.  Joss' sultry vocals shine on this track, so it is no surprise that Joss leads off the top half of 2005's top singles.

24. Nothing Without You by Bebo Norman
Bebo managed to find his way on to 2005's Top 50 not once, but twice.  The first of these appearances is here at #24.  Nothing Without You debuted on the Top 25 on January 20 at #19.  The track spent twelve weeks on the chart, peaking at #5.  Though never having a single go to #1 (As of now), Bebo has consistently been a solid performer on the Top 25.  His first appeance on the year proved that, and Nothing Without You is a track that definitely deserves credit for it's lyrical merit.

23. Shine On by Ryan Cabrera
Hitting it big in 2004 was not enough for Ryan Cabrera.  No, he chose to follow up his hit debut with his sophomore disc less than a year later.  But even with such a short time between discs, Ryan proved that he could provide quality, infectious music.  And his 2005 single, Shine On, truly made that point shine.  The track debuted on the Top 25 on September 1 at #23.  Ryan steadily climbed the Top 25, and eventually peaked at #4.  Shine On spent a total of 15 weeks on the chart in 2005.  Ryan definitely did some damage on the Top 25 in 2005, and found himself a place in the Top 50 for the year because of it.

22. Existentialism On Prom Night by Straylight Run
One of the true surprises of 2005 was Straylight Run's ascension to the top of the alternative world.  Their single, Existentialism On Prom Night, was one of the truly great tracks to come along in the past few years.  The music was simple, the vocals were excellent, and the lyrics were even better.  It became one truly awesome song.  Existentialism debuted on the Top 25 on December 30 at #17.  It quickly moved up to the top of the chart, and took over the #1 spot in just it's fifth week on the Top 25.  It stayed at #1 for two weeks, and spent a total of 15 weeks on the chart.  Straylight Run's success with this single was truly remarkable, and it was more than enough to earn them a spot on the Top 50 of 2005.

21. Paperthin Hymn by Anberlin
Anberlin had a huge year on the Weekly Top 25 in 2005.  Paperthin Hymn marks the first of three Anberlin singles to make the Top 50 this year.  And, though it is the track farthest down the list, it was undoubtedly the track that paved the way for the other two singles to have such solid runs.  Debuting at #15 on February 3, Paperthin Hymn spent 14 weeks on the Top 25, peaking with a two-week stint at #5.  Anberlin's big year started early in 2005 with Paperthin Hymn, but it was only going to get bigger.
