| Some of the year's early Top 25 competitors managed to do quite well during the year. And, though they dropped from their Top 5 positions that they held at the midway point of the year, these tracks had strong success that kept them in the Top 15. The competition has been close (#11 finished just two points out of the Top 10), and it's getting closer. | ||||||||||||||

| 15. Borrow Mine by Bebo Norman Bebo Norman appears once again in the Top 50. Both of Bebo's singles in 2005 made it into the top half of this list, but Borrow Mine was the one that ended up doing better on the Weekly Top 25. The single debuted on the Top 25 at #17 on June 30. Peaking at #5, Borrow Mine spent a total of 16 weeks on the Top 25 and fared quite well in it's time after dropping out of the Top 25. Bebo has consistently been one of music's most solid writers, and that has allowed his singles to also be consistent in their time on the Top 25. 14. Stronger by TRUSTcompany TRUSTcompany has consistently been one of alternative rock's most underrated acts. Their lead single from the disc True Parallels, Stronger, got moderate play in the alternative world, which is a disappointment. However, TRUSTcompany did not get shafted on this Top 25. Stronger debuted on February 3 at #20. The track spent 16 weeks on the Top 25 and got as high as #3 for two weeks. Stronger was definitely one of 2005's best and, at least on this chart, got the recognition it deserved. 13. A Day Late by Anberlin Anberlin's second appearance in the Top 50 for the year places them just outside of the Top 10. A Day Late debuted on the Top 25 at #20 on August 4. The video single spent 17 weeks on the Top 25, including a week as one of 2005's #1 hits. Helped by the success of Paperthin Hymn and the still-to-come third single that made the Top 25 for Anberlin in 2005, A Day Late was able to become a big hit in 2005. 12. Move Along by The All-American Rejects The All-American Rejects' second single also happened to be the title track of the new disc. And, though the success of lead single Dirty Little Secret definitely helped move along (no pun intended) the success of this track, Move Along became a smash hit on it's own merit, as one of the best tracks on one of the year's best discs. Move Along debuted on August 11 at #23. The song peaked at #1, but is still charting. The current count has the track at 18 weeks on the Top 25. AAR was one of 2005's top acts, and they have two singles in the Top 25 to show for it. 11. Sooner Or Later by Breaking Benjamin This one was one of 2005's true breakout hits. Sooner Or Later debuted on the Top 25 at #18 on February 17. The track lasted on the Top 25 for 16 weeks. It made it's way to the top of the chart in just it's sixth week and stayed at #1 for two weeks. Breaking Benjamin was a band that had no name recognition before 2005, but Sooner Or Later was a huge breakthrough for this band, and it was nearly a Top 10 hit in 2005. |
