Proceedings of the International Symposium The Aegean in the Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Early Bronze Age

Progress Report as of 23. October 2006 :

Greetings again from Liman Tepe! Its been a long time since my last report and -I know - the publication is still not out... I just wanted to update those who are curious about whats happening and whats going to happen to the publication. I also have a paper in it and as I wrote in my previous entry I REALLY look forward to seeing it out. I have COMPLETED the editing a few years ago. It is waiting for the action of the two main editors of the book. I am doing my best to make sure they send it to the publication finally... Its just that I am not the one who has the final word on it. I wanted to make this explination to avoid any misunderstandings about myself. I hope we can be able to see it printed within a year... Best wishes, Vasif

Progress Report as of 1. December 2001 :

Hello, I am Vasif Sahoglu - the person behind the editing work of the Symposium proceedings -. From time to time, I do get additional help though (Riza Tuncel is contributing in every stage of the preparations). I am struggling with my PhD and trying to keep up the editing work as well. I also have my own article to be published in the proceedings ! so I ask for some more patience please. :) Thank you!

I am sure most of you are wondering how the editing work is going on. Here is a quick update of the work that's been going on since October 1997!

You all received your "style sheet for the publication" and most of you sent their papers for publication. So far, 45 articles have been received for publication. All the articles have been uploaded into computer and edited according to a style sheet. Final editing is due to come. In the mean time, papers of the contributors were read through by native speakers of the language i.e. English, German or French. Dr. David Reese has kindly gone through the English articles and Prof. Harald Hauptmann has dealt with the articles in German and French.

I am now working on these papers making the necessary corrections and ensuring that they all conform to the same style sheet. The Introduction is to be written by Prof. Hayat Erkanal and Prof. Harald Hauptmann as organisers.

I am including a list of the contents of the Proceedings so that you all know what is to come. I personally can't wait to see it out there, published !!

I will try to update you with the new developments. In the mean time, have a nice day!

Vasif Sahoglu
