ABOUT IPASA


Launched in April 1995, IPASA (Instityut sa Panitikan at Sining ng Sambayanan/Institute of People's Literature and Art) is an independent archival center for the literary and artistic works of the new democratic movement in the Philippines. It keeps track of the publications, performances, exhibitions, etc. of the people's artists and writers in the countryside and cities, and encourages workshops, fora, social investigations and mass integrations, reviews and studies, etc. which enhance their commitment and skills in the service of the people's struggles against U.S. imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism.

Gelacio Guillermo is the chairperson.
