Frigid conditions that were close to unbearable were the weather ordered for our non-conference match up against Sycamore.  Sycamore was the
opponent that took us to doulbe overtime and a penalty kick shootout in the Sectional semifinal last year.  This game had all the billings of being the
same type of battle, especially in light of the weather.  The game started with Sycamore being the more dominant side.  Once the ladies sorted things
out, our ability to attack became more visible, but not often enough.  A chance here and a chance there for either side was all that was available as this
game began to get bogged down between the two penalty areas... nothing really generating past that point at either end.  Halftime score: 0-0.  At the
half, the ladies were told to stop worrying about how cold they were and just play the game.  Immediately the girls set off to put their stamp on the match,
and created many more opportunities to put the ball on goal.  The only problem was the final shot was never forthcoming it seemed.  The only great
opportunity was when Taylor Giedd shot narrowly wide at the near post with about 10 minutes remaining.  Although Sycamore found it much harder to
pass the halfline in the second half, the ladies just couldn't seem to final that elusive goal that would give us the wanted result.  In the end, it was a
frustrating match offensively, but a very determined effort defensively as we held onto our unbeaten home record for 2007.  As the coach, the positives
were just that... a lot of grit and determination to deny the opposition any real quality opportunities.  We can always work on the offensive end of things.
