Due to recent events, the Hononegah Girls Soccer program will adopt a more strict approach to the Drug & Alcohol Policy than that of the IHSA or Hononegah High School. Starting in the 2004 soccer season and continuing for each season thereafter, the following NEW rules will be instituted with regards to athletes who wish to disregard the drug & alcohol policy currently outlined in the Hononegah High School school handbook:
1st Offense = one full year suspension from the program from the date of the offense.
2nd Offense = expulsion from the program entirely.
This replaces the current IHSA and Hononegah High School which states: (a) on 1st offense, the athlete will serve a suspension equal to one-third of the season, (b) and on 2nd offense, the athlete will serve a suspension equal to one full year from the date of the infraction. Please keep in mind that the rules regarding when a athlete has disobeyed the policy have NOT changed.
