The Ride's Over

I tried to tell you
But you would not listen
I tried to explain
But you refused to understand

You watched me cry without any trace of compassion
You laughed and smiled at my despair and my pain
You took the beauty of my love and abused it
You drained all the hope, all the joy from my life

Now, I no longer love or care about you
I've had all I can take of your crack, your bullshit, your lies
Now that I am free my sight and mind are clear
I've finally let you go and I'm concentrating on me

So, goodbye, I wish you well
Maybe someday you will wake-up, and start to change
So, this is it, now go away, and have yourself a nice life
It's been fun, it's been a slice, but I'm sorry to say now, baby
That the ride is now finally over

My Destiny

Another day has passed before me
What have I to show, and what have I achieved
For another dream has been left in waiting
Reality seems to be with-holding the keys

Another prayer has gone out from within me
Tell me, does He know, can He even hear my voice
Another song has been created within my heart and my mind
Other than a sense of sweet release, what have I truly gained

Another lover has all but come and gone
I find a passion, and a truth in a strangers flesh
I find another adventure, full and complete with unknown dangers
There is a freedon found in a mystery that has yet to be solved

Another night has decended upon me and this city
The neon lights and the busy people provide me a temporary escape
New dance numbers are playing, they move my body, and they stir my soul
This communion, this fellowship, gives me strength, and provides support

So, another day and another night has passed before me
Just look at what I have come to learn, and meet the people I have met
The dream, the prayer, the lover, the dance, & the song provide the realization
That it is I who has always had the possession of my destiny's keys
