| Distractions Distracted by the myriad of flashing neon lights Watching in wonder as thier rythmn drives away my boredom As my worries and cares float away with the cool evening breeze Easing the endless mental torment, and the burdens of today Greed and carnal pleasures I accept without regard to the final cost As I freely take samples and testers of all that I want and I see Allowing my to wander about mindlessy, hoping in time to become lost For I know these disilliusion were never to be continual, to last But for now I have forgotten all my worries and cares There are no clouds in my sky, no approaching storm to bring me down For temporarily I am niether here nor there Freedom may be just an illusion, but there is where I can be found date: Thursday, February 12, 2004 by: D. | The Answer Tonight I have found my answer Tonight I have learned the truth It is not in all this world's worries and cares Nor in the beauty of one's youth It lies hidden within the spirit Just waiting and wanting to be set free It's a gentle plea, but can you hear it? Listen well, for it's melody will bring you peace The answer may be a hymn, a pslam And the truth, a simple song of praise It's words of freedom, teach us how to belong As upon it's light we may freely gaze So, look within instead of without And in time I know there you will find That there is a victory song, which you can shout And from you bondage, finally resign date: Friday, February 13, 2004 by: D. | Double Standard You claim you have no place in your life for foolish supersition As I watch you cower in fear at the sight of a black cat In utter stupidity and ignorance I hear you recite the Bloody Mary Calling out to the Candyman, the Boogieman, ever tormenting the Vampire's bat Looking over your shoulder I see you daily reading your horoscope Sneaking into the Mystics' parlour to lay your money down and inquire of her Tarot With blind abandon you play the role the victim, the abuser and the harlot Becoming like Judas, you have sold your soul for thirty pieces of silver and your pound of flesh You have betrayed your faith by falsely claiming hatred of Lucifer and his star For in secret you seek his guidance and invoke his many names To his lies and half- truths you have sacrificed your all upon his cursed altar Pleading in return for your obedience that he bestow upon you som earthly fortune, fame or glory Why, my friend, do you live out this double standard As you bow down before the gods of lust, gluttony and greed With indiffence you have disgraced your family, betrayed your friends, and defiled your nieghbours You will ever remain blinded and bound by your own ignorance and self-deciet Date : Friday February 13, 2004 by: D.
