Olivier Dacourt has quit Sheffield United to join Paris Saint-German in a 2,000,000 deal. The French international has signed a two-year deal with the Ligue 1 outfit, after passing a medical and agreeing personal terms over the weekend. The former Leeds United and Everton stalwart signed for The Blades on a free transfer and quickly became a fan favourite at Bramall Lane. His exit though looked almost certain after a clash with new manager Roy Keane, just days after the Irishman had taken over at the club. Dacourt was frozen out by his new manager and had been linked with a return to Serie A, with Palermo and Udinese showing an interest in his services. Although in the end it was PSG who lodged a bid for the midfielder. Dacourt, disappointed to be leaving the GI, admitted the move back to France made perfect sense. |
