4th - 6th July
Hightown Baptist Youth Camp 03 was held at Buckmore Park near Chatham in Kent. The weekend took the theme of Independence Day due to the date being the 4th of July. This was enhanced by it being Brandon's first English youth camp since arriving from the States and he was giving all of the main talks.
This year Paul and I went for a full audio/visual experience. Hooking up speakers with an amp and mixing desk we were able to mic up some vocals and guitars for singing and play cds and mini-disc to a decent volume. Good fun! Add to that 2 tv's relaying video and the church's brand new projector wired up to our laptops and you've got a crazy amount of equipment for a weekend with 22 teenagers!
Well highlights of the weekend would have to include Janine and Brooke's constant singing (with actions), Brandon trying to convert the English to American Football, playing touch American Football on the promenade, watching the Aliensong on the projector and of course more than anything the way God moved in some hearts.
