Welcome to the USS LeRay Wilson launch page.

L-R: Julia Wilson, Unknown LT, Don Hagey, Vernona Rundall

In addition to photos I was able to scan while visiting my parents, there are two items I acquired of which I am VERY, VERY pleased.
The first is a presentation box which was given to my great-grandmother, Julia Wilson, the day she christened the USS LeRay Wilson. Inside the box are the remains of the champagne bottle used in the ceremony. I recently found someone skilled in the art of restoring and protecting oil painting, so as soon as I can afford his fee, I'll have that taken care of, and will then convert this box into a humidor. I finally got the lid fully scanned, but as you can see, there is a vertical line through the left side -- this is a result of two pictures being put together to create one.

The second item is a plaque the same size as the lid which was given to my grandmother, Vernona Rundall
