In addition to my interest in the Navy history from a family standpoint, I've also started collecting an assortment of antique Navy books, as well as a few non-Navy. At this point my collection is small, but will grow through the years.

Watch Officers Guide 1941

The Bluejackets Manual 1940

The Bluejackets Manual 1943

The Bluejackets Manual 1944
. This book was originally issued to Anthony F. Ozanich. Inside the book I found a Railway Express Agency receipt dated 1-5-1945

Naval Customs, Traditions, and Usage. Originally written in 1939 by Lieutenant Commander Leland P. Lovette, this copy was reprinted in 1942.

The United States Navy -- A History. The copyright in this book is 1943.

The Bluejackets Manual, Fifteenth Edition 1959

While still in Junior High, I received a series of Tom Swift books as a Christmas present. I thought they had been lost during one of my many moves with the Navy. I recently found them in a box at my parent's home, and they have returned to my bookshelves, where I will ensure they are well taken care of. They are:
Tom Swift and his Motorcycle -- Copyright 1910
Tom Swift and his Motorboat -- Copyright 1910
Tom Swift and his Airship -- Copyright 1910
Tom Swift and his Submarine Boat -- Copyright 1910
Tom Swift and his Electric Runabout -- Copyright 1910
Tom Swift and his Wireless Message -- Copyright 1911
Tom Swift Among the Diamond Makers -- Copyright 1911
Tom Swift in the Caves of Ice -- Copyright 1911
Tom Swift and his Sky Racer -- Copyright 1911
Tom Swift and his Electric Rifle -- Copyright 1911
Tom Swift in the City of Gold -- Copyright 1912
Tom Swift and his Air Glider -- Copyright 1912
Tom Swift and his Wizard Camera -- Copyright 1912
Tom Swift and his Great Search Light -- Copyright 1912
Tom Swift and his Giant Cannon -- Copyright 1913
Tom Swift and his Photo Telephone -- Copyright 1914
Tom Swift Among the Fire Fighters -- Copyright 1921
Tom Swift and his Flying Boat -- Copyright 1923

From 1910 to 1923, Victor Appleton wrote 26 of these books (there may have been more after), and I am missing 8. It will be a pleasure for me to search for them in the antique stores!

Another book I found while going through this box, but didn't know I had (don't remember anyway) is:

The Sword in the Stone by T.H. White -- Copyright 1939
