| Chapter 2 "We have so much to do. We have to get dresses, find a place, find flowers," Audrey said. It was the next Wednesday and they were having their regular dinner. This time however it was filled with talk about the up coming wedding. "It's not even your wedding," Derek said to Audrey. "Well it better be mine soon," Audrey said. "That's what we call a hint," Lance said. "Yeah if you don't take it there will be consequences. Believe me I know," Joey said. "Especially with Audrey," Josh chimed in. "Well I'm glad to see so many people on my side. Now when is the wedding?" Audrey said. "We just got engaged. We haven't set a date," Jenna said. "Well you guys have practically been married forever anyway," Chris said. "On that note, I'm going to the bathroom," Jenna said. "I'm going too," Audrey said getting up to follow. "Why do women always have to go to the bathroom together?" Derek asked as the girls walked away. As soon as they walked into the bathroom Audrey stated, "Now you have to tell him about Katie." "What? Why?" Jenna asked. "Because now that you're getting married he's going to ask, and it is better if you tell him and are prepared then if he asks you and your not," Audrey said. Since Jenna and Audrey were in the bathroom Lance saw this as an opportunity to ask JC, "Have you asked yet?" "No, I don't know how to bring it up," JC said. "Just say 'Now that we're going to be married maybe we should be honest with each other' or something like that," Lance said. "Yeah but if she wanted to be honest she would have already told me," JC said. "She's probably just scared. If you ask she'll tell you. Plus it's been bothering you and once you ask you'll feel better," Lance said. "Yeah I guess," JC said still unsure what to do about the situation. That night Jenna and JC were getting ready for bed. JC decided that he had to know. "I want our relationship to be based on honesty and now that we're engaged," JC started talking fast, "I love you. I love Katie. I love her like she's my own but I need to know. I've never asked but I'm sorry it's been bothering me for awhile now. You've never talked about it but I need to know. Who's Katie's father?" Jenna started to panic but she tried to stay as calm as she could. Audrey was right. He asked and now she was unprepared, "It was just one night. It meant nothing and he means nothing to me." She decided to leave the name out. She couldn't do it she couldn't tell him. "Are you ever going to tell Katie?" JC inquired. "Yes, eventually when the time is right," Jenna said. "If it's not important why won't you tell me? And if you're going to tell her shouldn't I know too?" JC asked "It doesn't matter," Jenna started but JC interrupted, "It matters to me." "I love you," Jenna said trying to keep her cool. She could feel the tears forming in her eyes. "What's his name?" JC asked softly. This caught Jenna off guard. She had been using generic terms. She just couldn't tell JC. "I'm going to bed," Jenna said she was crying now. JC watched as she climbed into bed. Her back was facing him now and he heard the soft sniffle into the pillow. Deciding that she wasn't going to tell him he walked out of the room and down the stairs to sleep on the couch. CHAPTER 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 |
