My mind is like a blender that takes other people's ideas, mixes them together, and hacks them to pieces until the end product is mangled and unrecognizable. So I stole some of the jokes and plot ideas that were suggested to me for How to Write an Aeris Resurrection Fic in reviews and e-mails...oh, wait, did I say "stole"? I meant to say "was inspired by." Right, "inspired by." As in the Harry Potter BNF version of "inspired by." Anyway, thanks to the following people and resources for their help or (cough) inspiration: -This article on FictionPress, which probably inspired the original Step 9. -Matsie Scruff, who suggested in a review over a year ago that Cloud and Aeris go on a romantic Chocobo ride and picnic together by the Midgar Swamp, only to be eaten by the Midgar Zolom...which somehow turned into the Midgar Zolom getting eaten in Chapter 14. See, like I said. My mind. Blender. Hack to pieces. Mangled and unrecognizable. -Chainsawmidget and Melomancer, for beta-reading Chapters 13 and 14. You can thank both of them for the final "Midgar Parade" and author's note at the end of the foreshadowing sequence in Chapter 13, Chainsawmidget for the new comment in Step 3: The Author's Note pointing out the emoticon, and Melomancer for the pathetic Jycei-Attempts-to-Get-Into-Sephiroth's-Pants scene's not sucking as badly and for a somewhat less annoying Barret. -Ladygreensleevesd, who introduced me to the horror of Mills & Boon novels, the UK equivalent of Harlequin (I later discovered that Mills & Boon is owned by Harlequin). If Jycellaemynthia ever outgrew the world of fanfiction to become a professional writer, that's where she'd be published. The line in Step 26 (the second Jycei/Sephiroth vignette) referring to "turbulent breasts" is an actual quote ladygreensleevesd sent me from a Mills & Boon book. Aeris's teeth sparkling "like something out of a bad Mills and Boon novel" is a paraphrase of a long paragraph full of comparisons between various body parts and jewels that...well, the best thing I could say about it is that the writer deserves credit for not mixing her metaphors. -The Godawful Fanfiction forum (currently off-line), for suggesting evil books for Tifa to use to corrupt Sephiroth. (Necronomicon for the win!) -Sephiroth1Ripley8, for telling me way back in the spring of 2005 that badfic writers were using horribly characterized versions of the three silverhaired men from Advent Children as stock villains or love interests in their stories...long before the movie came out. As probably the only person on the Internet who still hasn't seen Advent Children, I included the SHM in Chapter 14 even though the trend is kind of out of date. -Anyone who actually read this thing!
