Chris pacing out acreage near Goulburn. It runs from the top of a rock-dotted hill whose summit is treed & slopes grassed, down to a tiny flood plain beside a typically Australian rocky/sandy half-dry creek fringed with more trees. A road runs across the hill to the next property, but doesn’t connect through to another road, so there’s not a lot of traffic. We were discussing approaches to building a shelter, maybe eventually a house ... This visit was in February 2002 on our way down to Canberra to see the Treasures of World Libraries.
I don’t know which he loved more, the Blue Mountains, the shores of Lake Macquarie, or this little patch of Aussie countryside.
The panorama was taken over several minutes, as you might infer. Unfortunately there seems to be a gap in the middle of the mountain behind Chris. The entire picture is nearly 360 degrees round, showing the top of the hill ‘behind’ the camera here but, being handheld, ended up quite bent & tilted instead of a nice straight photo, so this is just a small cropped section. I’d like go back to, among other things, take a better panorama with tripod & mountain. It’s been a long time & getting there carlessly is difficult. My friends haven’t seen it yet. I hope they like it too.
