Eleven is Ten -- The Full Story
or is it the fool story

National Steel Corporation's Batch 11 of the Engineering Management Training Program celebrated the 10th Anniversary on January 18, 1998 at Pajo Beach, Lanao del Norte. Twenty-two out of the 43 batchmates marked our existence at the premier steel manufacturing steel plant in the Philippines with pomp, merry-making, song and dance, and frolicking!

The event was part-sponsored by benevolent overseas-based and out-of-NSC batchmates who sought much greener pastures and shared their bounty to those who chose to stick with NSC. The whole-day affair was attended by 22 EMT 11s and our respective wives and kids.

OM Maglinao, graced the affair with an early-morning visit and picture-taking with the guys.

  11 is 10

A short programme reminisced the ten years by viewing the training videos, welcomed new members of the family, enjoyed our kids and partied with roast beef, lechons, kilawin, sinugba, saging, kamote, ice cream, beer, softdrinks, and whiskey.

Special-edition T-shirts, designed by Reynan, made their debut and signified the juxtaposition of the first and the tenth years.

Special documentation crew, Allags, BobotV, and ReyGonz, with their respective cameras clicked ~ history-in-the making.

This was the full story.

  Eleven Survey

Out of the total 44 original EMT 11, we found out that:

22 remained at NSC, all are married. Only one was not present during the 10th!

22 are either overseas-based or home-bound. Two are missing-in-action.

The average number of kids per EMT is two. Some are more productive than others.

Lesson: It is better to plan a week before than not plan at all!
