My school uses the "balanced literacy" approach for teaching language arts. The primary teachers use Debbie Miller's Reading With Mearning: Teaching Comprehension in the Primary Grades to guide them in their teaching of reading. We mainly use a mixture of Lucy Calkins' Units of Study and Marcia Freemans books to guide us in teaching writing. Our district has adopted the Everyday Math Program to teach math.
