The Churchwardens Samuel White and Richard Cooper, and Overseers of the Poor Jacob Woodward and John Bayley in records, Reference P328a OV 5/3 dated 01 Jan 1785 shows Samuel Jones of Broad Somerford, Wilts, the father of Mary Jones of Tetbury, bonded himself for 40 pounds to support her child if it became a charge on the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor at Tetbury.

Nathaniel Jones was in the group of 43 who attended the Court Leet dinner at the 3 Cups on 10-Oct 1715

Robert Jones of Tetbury, Paynter, took as Apprentice Samuel Hopkins, son of James Hopkins who was sent back to Tetbury when the Overseers for the Poor at Wootton Under Edge found he was bound as Apprentice to Robert Jones, so belonged to Tetbury. Reference P 328a OV 3/3/1 dated 1723. The boy appears to have gone back home.

Robert Jones 1690 -, married 17151007 to Elizabeth Sloper. They baptised Sarah 17161011, William 17231228 and Jonathan 17270212. He buried his wife 17511002.

Stephen Jones is in the Records, reference D 566 T 2/3 involving leases.
On 22 Feb 1682 he purchased two houses in Chippen Lane, Tetbury from James Thomas of Bristol (or who then moved to Bristol?)
They are the house where Margaret Godwin, widow doth now dwell, and the house where Samuel Holliday dwells.

Stephen Jones buried 17150112 appears to be the son of William baptised 16990708.

By the Will of Samuel Witcomb signed 3 Dec 1708, we learn that his daughter Rebecca baptised 14 Feb 1662, wed 1 March 1692 to William Jones, and she had a son Stephen Jones who was bequeathed 5 pounds by his grandfather.

Stephen Jones, 17090218 - 17720222, son of Stephen aged 63, from 'The Old Bull', married 17321029 to Alice Chambers 1711 - 17480208. They baptised William 17340127, Stephen 17350529, Sarah 17360712 lived 6 weeks, Francis 17370922 - 17421027 lived 5 years, Mary 17391019, Sarah 17420131, Alice 17430530, Francis 17441019 and Ann 17470714 -17480628 lived 11 months.
Alice Jones wed William Cove, her brother Stephen is mentioned in William Cove's Will made 7 Feb 1793.

Will of Stephen Jones 1773/27

Stephen made his will on 15 Aug 1767, when he was in good health, and on 30 March 1768 added a Codicil. His will was proved by his son Stephen 22 Feb 1773, and his daughter Mary Jones took over administration on 26 March 1787
To my son Stephen Jones and daughters Mary Jones and Alice Jones equally I appoint them joint executors and leave them the residue of my goods after paying my son William Jones 20 pounds, my son Francis Jones 30 pounds and my daughter Sarah wife of William Horley 50 pounds.
The Codicil recalls that Sarah had already received 20 pounds, so her legacy was reduced to 30 pounds. It also directed that Stephen, Mary and Alice provide a home for my sister in law Sarah Smith provided she assist them in the business they had - Innkeeping at present.

Thomas Jones' wife died of Smallpox 17110315.

By the Will of Samuel Witcomb signed 3 Dec 1708, we learn that his daughter Rebecca baptised 14 Feb 1662, wed 1 March 1692 to William Jones, and she had a son Stephen Jones who was bequeathed 5 pounds.

William Jones 1670 - 17330322 wed 16930301 to Rebecca Witcomb 16630214 - 17280706, baptised Stephen 16990708, Rebekah 17020317 lived 7 months, William 17040320 and Hanah 17070720.
William is one of the two executors and beneficiaries of John Turner's Will

William Jones 17021009 - 17660409, son of Stephen. His widow Elizabeth was buried 1770 matching the William buried 17660409 a Lawyer, his marriage to Elizabeth Baily 17320927, and baptism as son of Stephen 17021009.

One of these two couples were Presbyterian.
William Jones witnessed John Andrew's will on 8 Oct 1745.

William Jones 17040320 - 1773, son of William, the Mason of 1735 matches the Stone Carver who was buried 1773 aged 68, so born about 1705 - fiting William baptised 17040320 son of William, so the Mason still alive in 1770, may have married 17240524 to Hannah Morse and then married 17281103 to Hannah Hathaway buried 17511029. She could be the widow of William Hathaway, who baptised Thomas 17240402 and was buried 17270122.

William Jones married 17411101 to Mary Embley and baptised Elizabeth 17420418, William 17431027, Thomas 17450704, Mary 17470301 Charles 17490528 lived 20 months and Ann 17590426.
