"Annette Beasley" Robert Ind born 1670 Tetbury was the son of Ambrose Ind.(This family is referred to in the 1735 Census) Edward born 1703 Tetbury was the son of Robert Ind and Mary Brasington.
James, born 1737/9 Tetbury was the son of Edward Ind and Joan Smith.
Robert, born 1772 Tetbury, was the son of James Ind and Edith Rudge.
I believe that John was the son of Robert Ind and Ann Parsons, born Avening 1794.
My Ind ancestor George Ind was born in Tetbury in 1819 to John Ind and Ann ?.
My problem is that John Ind and his son George were convicted of lamb stealing in 1842. John sentenced to 18 months hard labour at the new prison Devizes. George was sentenced to be transported for 7 years. He was in prison in Tiverton, then Pentonville and finally exiled to Australia in 1845. I can find no trace of the family in Tetbury after 1842. I know that George had at least one brother Thomas. George was also probably married in Gloucester. His shipping records indicate that he was married and there is a staged wedding in Victoria in 1850.
He worked on the Henty property in Merino Downs, near Hamilton until the early 1850's.
Cheers
Annette Beasley
