Barbara writes:-
I have a letter written on 25th. June 1767 by a Mr. DAVID MITCHELL of London, to Mrs. NOTT at Shirston or Thirston, c/of Mr. GALE, surgeon in Tetbury, Glos. This letter has been kept by the family ever since, but we now have no idea who these people were.
Mr. Mitchell was writing to Mrs. Nott, promising to send her letter to her husband by the first Ship, which was not expected to be until Christmas. He warned her that she could not expect a reply in less than a year unless two ships happened, by chance, to meet.
